Volunteer by meeting the need.
Every one of our resident has a need of some kind: Toiletries, clothes, blankets, snacks, etc. Your church may be working on putting packs together to help the homeless or you may have something extra at home that you don't need.
We need volunteers on every level:
churches or organizations to sign up for dinner one or two times a month. Sign up.
clothing sorting and organizing. Sign up.
people to assist staff between 4:45PM as late as 9:00-10:00 p.m. especially between Thursday to Sunday
people to assist with early morning breakfast and wake up times from 6-8 am every day of the week. Sign up.
Volunteers to take residents to the hospital, doctor's appointments, Social Security office, and to run various errands for them.
Financial Needs.
Our annual budget is just under $600,000 to cover all the costs of full-time staff covering our facility 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing programming to help get the homeless back on their feet.
Our greatest need actually is funding, so we are asking people to just give what they can on a monthly basis to help us keep our doors open. The cost to a city or county for one homelessness person runs between $40,000 - $120,000 per year. Often the homeless end up in jail, the hospital, or the ER.
