Volunteer Opportunities
How can I help?
Get involved at Branches of Hope as a volunteer. We are highly reliant on the help we get from our community, whether it is bringing or helping serve the residents a hot meal, sorting donations and organizing the clothes closet, or helping with a maintenance task, or completing your community service hours, we have something for you.
We need volunteers on every level:
churches or organizations to sign up for dinner one or two times a month. Sign up.
clothing sorting and organizing. Sign up.
people to assist staff between 2:30 PM as late as 7:00 PM especially between during the week and from 3:30 PM to 7:00 PM over the weekends.
Volunteers to take residents to the hospital, doctor's appointments, Social Security office, and to run various errands for them.
Financial Needs.
Our annual budget is just under $600,000 to cover all the costs of full-time staff covering our facility 24 hours a day, 365 days a year, providing programming to help get the homeless back on their feet.
Our greatest need actually is funding, so we are asking people to just give what they can on a monthly basis to help us keep our doors open. The cost to a city or county for one homelessness person runs between $40,000 - $120,000 per year. Often the homeless end up in jail, the hospital, or the ER.
